CFK- Creative Food for Picky/Fussy Eaters Healthy Breakfast and Dinner Event Announcement!!!

Cooking for Kids is monthly event started by Sharmi of Neivedyam. I would like to thank Sharmi for giving me an opportunity for hosting her CFK event this month.

I have chosen Creative Food for Picky/Fussy Eaters Healthy Breakfast and Dinner. Most of them complain their children don't like this breakfast or don't like to eat dinner. Each child has their own taste like watching tv and some are playful. Some know by looking at the food itself what dish it will be whether they like or not. Most of them leave the plate without completing the food which is full of nutrients required for the growth. Picky eaters have poor appetites. They need proper attention and to make them eat healthy food.

So, you might also be having a story on this.

Those of you interested in hosting this event please email to cookingforkids@gmail.com.

Rules

1. Prepare any healthy breakfast or dinner and post between now and Jan 31st. (Only vegetarian no eggs please)

2. Please linkback to this event announcement and Sharmi's site

Oats Feast - Event Announcement!!!

Dear Friends,

Thank you all for your Entries to my Say Cheese Event. Will be posting the roundup soon.

I am very happy in hosting my 3rd Event. I have chosen Oats as the main ingredient since its becoming famous and used daily by many of us. Oats are generally considered "healthy", or a health food, being touted commercially as nutritious. The discovery of the healthy cholesterol-lowering properties has led to wider appreciation of oats as human food.

We use this in many different forms for cooking. While oats are suitable for human consumption as oatmeal and rolled oats, one of the most common uses is as livestock feed. Oats make up a large part of the diet of horses and are regularly fed to cattle as well. Oats are also used in some brands of dog and chicken feed.

Oats have numerous uses in food; most commonly, they are rolled or crushed into oatmeal, or ground into fine oat flour. Oatmeal is chiefly eaten as porridge, but may also be used in a variety of baked goods, such as oatcakes, oatmeal cookies, and oat bread. Oats are also an ingredient in many cold cereals, in particular muesli and granola. Oats may also be consumed raw, and cookies with raw oats are becoming popular.

Oat protein is nearly equivalent in quality to soy protein, which has been shown by the World Health Organization to be equal to meat, milk, and egg protein[5] The protein content of the hull-less oat kernel (groat) ranges from 12–24%, the highest among cereals. Oat bran is consumed to lower the bad cholestrol and reduce risk of heart disease.

That was a little information on Oats. Hope it was useful.

Inviting you all to participate in this event and make it success.

Rose Milk is very tasty and simple drink. This is a favourite drink of my 16months old son for its colour and taste:-) Its very refreshing.

I was thinking Rose Milk is very difficult and long process to make so always having it in a restuarant. But my friend here told me Rose syrup is available in super market and its easy to make. Now am very happy after I bought my family likes it a lot and drink daily.

Take 2 tspns rose syrup(store bought sugar added some are without sugar too) in a glass and pour cold milk of your choice(Normal, Low fat, skimmed milk) stir well and serve. For children you can garnish few choco chips.
My other entries for FIL Milk event are
